Head of Wireless Networks Lab Evgeny Khorov is elected a member of the Academic Council of National Research University Higher School of Economics

National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE University) is one of the leading Russian universities conducting top-level research in various scientific areas including mathematics, physics, electronics, IT and robotics. The Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM) which is an HSE subdivision specializes in educating highly qualified engineers and scientists. MIEM’s mission is to acquire fundamental knowledge and develop applied technologies in the electronics, engineering and aerospace industries.

Based on the institute, Telecommunications Systems Laboratory which is led by Evgeny Khorov is one of significant space to provide the scientific society, students and academics with the last technological advancement in communications and networking. Here to share scientific ideas and international research experience the Wireless Networks Lab members hold classes and lectures in various areas of telecommunications.

Head of Wireless Networks Lab Evgeny Khorov was elected a member of the Faculty Academic Council of HSE. The Academic Council is an elected representative committee responsible for the general management of the faculty. Every 5 year, the institute organizes a meeting of the board members to establish the Academic Council for the next period. The Interaction between WNL and MIEM HSE is a strong foundation to forge future telecommunications highly qualified specialists.

Collaboration with The Higher School of Economics is not the one joint educational project of the lab. The WNL endeavors to meliorate and accelerate its developments and research by diverse cooperation with well-known and prestigious universities such as Lomonosov Moscow State University (Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics),  Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (The Interfaculty Department of Information Transmission Problems and Data Analysis). The WNL sees its important goal in the efficiency and high-quality education for the young generation of scientists.

Wireless Networks Lab is a ‘Megagrant lab established in 2017 around the project on Cloudified Wireless Networks for 5G and beyond, led by Prof. Ian F. Akyildiz. The team regularly reports at leading IEEE conferences, runs industrial projects and contributes to standardization of wireless networks.
