WNL SUMMER SCHOOL 2020 пройдет с 1.07.2020 по 31.08.2020 гг. В рамках работы школы будут представлены актуальные исследовательские направления телекоммуникационной связи. Сфера научных разработок Wireless Networks Lab связана с созданием новой облачной архитектуры для беспроводных сетей на основе программных сетей и сетевых функций. Студенты лаборатории активно занимаются исследовательской работой, а полученные результаты публикуются в признанных международных изданиях.

Wireless Networks Lab Publishes a Survey on Candidate Features of Wi-Fi 7

The paper “Current Status and Directions of IEEE 802.11be, the Future Wi-Fi 7” by WNL members Evgeny Khorov, Ilya Levitsky, and Ian F. Akyildiz has been accepted for publication in IEEE Access. The survey gives a detailed description of the activity of IEEE 802.11be Task Group. WNL members have identified the main directions of the new technology development and documented them in the paper. It focuses on the open problems that can be solved by the researchers who want to contribute to the 802.11be.

WNL Design on Energy Harvesting Wireless Sensor Networks is Published in MDPI Sensors Journal

The WNL members have developed a solution for Wi-Fi HaLow networks to divide the energy-harvesting sensors into groups and to assign them the time intervals in such a way, that the sensors can deliver their data with the required reliability and at the same time consume a minimal amount of channel time. The WNL Lab solution is designed to avoid the possibility of sensors running out of energy during the transmission and thus losing their data and enables the support of thousands of energy-harvesting sensors in a Wi-Fi HaLow network.

WNL Lab Presents NOMA Wi-Fi Testbed with Constellation Rotation at the IEEE INFOCOM 2020

The paper “Prototyping NOMA Constellation Rotation in Wi-Fi” by WNL members Evgeny Khorov, Aleksey Kureev, Ilya Levitsky, and Ian F. Akyildiz and the new version of NOMA Wi-Fi Prototype will be presented at the #1 conference in telecommunications: IEEE INFOCOM 2020.
The prototype is modified to enable transmission and reception of NOMA frames, where the secondary constellations that have lower power can now be rotated by 0, 45, or 90 degrees.

WNL Lab Publishes the Pioneering Framework Enabling Massive URLLC Applications in 5G+ Systems

WNL team describes a pioneering framework enabling Massive URLLC applications in 5G networks, which they have developed in 2018. Providing Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Communications (URLLC) is one of the key challenges for 5G systems, which requires the redesign of both radio access technologies and the architectures. While 3GPP and the research community focus mainly on radio low layer functionality and architectural changes that enable URLLC, WNL Lab proposes a novel cross-layer framework that extends the already standardized 5G solutions to support a very massive number of users/flows in the system.

Prof. Ian F. Akyildiz and WNL Head Evgeny Khorov Participate in the Symposium «Celebrating 50 Years of the ALOHA System and the Future of Networking»

Megagrant Leader Prof. Ian F. Akyildiz and WNL Head Evgeny Khorov have participated in a world-famous event «Celebrating 50 Years of the ALOHA System and the Future of Networking». The scientific symposium was held in Santa Clara, Silicon Valley Campus, CA, the USA on January 24, 2020. The hosting organization of the event was the University of California, Santa Cruz. Prof. Ian F. Akyildiz was one of the invited speakers and gave a fruitful talk on section «Research Directions after The ALOHA System». The talk presented by Prof. Akyildiz was titled «All roads lead to ALOHA» and it lighted up ALOHA protocol as one of the basic building blocks in the protocols for 3G/4G/5G multimedia networks, wireless sensor networks, underwater and underground communication networks, wireless mesh networks and satellite networks.
