Paper “Reducing Computational Complexity for the 3GPP TR 38.901 MIMO Channel Model” accepted for IEEE Wireless Communications Letters

The work “Reducing Computational Complexity for the 3GPP TR 38.901 MIMO Channel Model” by Endovitskiy Egor, Aleksey Kureev, and Khorov Evgeny has been accepted for publication in IEEE Wireless Communications Letters. This letter describes solutions to accelerate the computation of the 3GPP TR 38.901 channel model without notable impact on the observed effects.

3GPP TR 38.901 –– is a popular channel model for simulation of wireless networks. Among other thing, it has spatial consistency and physically interpreted and accurate time evolution of the channel. Those properties are essential when studying algorithms used in technologies of wireless networks such as OFDMA and MU-MIMO. However, usage of the model is hindered by massive computational complexity, which impedes statistical analysis of results. Researchers of WNL have manifold accelerated implementation of 3GPP TR 38.901 channel model, while preserving its temporal and statistical characteristics.

The accepted paper will be published in IEEE Wireless Communications Lettersa first quartile (Q1) journal. This journal publishes shorter, high-quality manuscripts on advances in the state-of-the-art of wireless communications.
