Head of WNL Evgeny Khorov gives a keynote on future Wi-Fi at New2an

Evgeny Khorov gives a keynote on “Challenges and Open Issues in Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7”.

The keynote is dedicated to the development of the 802.11 standard for Wi-Fi technology. The talk focuses on the two novel standard amendments: 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6), which has recently appeared on the market, and a highly anticipated 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7), which is under active development. In the talk, Evgeny Khorov describes how promising approaches are implemented in the future Wi-Fi standard, what and why is left beyond the scope of the standard, and how the research community can contribute to maximizing user experience in Wi-Fi networks. The video of the talk is available online.

Evgeny Khorov (Senior Member, IEEE) is currently the Head of the Wireless Networks Lab and the Deputy Director of the Institute for Information Transmission Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He also gives tutorials and participates in panels at large IEEE events, chairs TPC of the IEEE GLOBECOM 2018 CA5GS Workshop, IEEE BLACKSEACOM 2019, and the Internet Architecture Board Workshop on Network Quality 2021. Being a voting member of IEEE 802.11, he has contributed to 802.11 standards with many proposals. With his deep knowledge of 802.11 inner workings, in his talk, Evgeny Khorov gives insights into the main innovations of 802.11ax and 802.11be, based on the discussions in the 802.11 Working Group.
