Title: Methods for Modeling Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces in Wireless Networks
Speaker: Ilya Burtakov, IITP RAS
Abstract: Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) are a promising way to increase the performance of wireless networks. However, despite the high interest in the research community, there is no simulation platform that is flexible enough to study the performance of wireless communication systems with RIS in complex scenarios. The seminar will review various approaches to RIS modeling and show the scope of their applicability. It will also describe in detail how to model RIS in geometric stochastic channel models, which are the most popular today for modeling Wi-Fi networks and cellular communication systems.
Bio: Burtakov Ilya received the Bachelor degree in applied mathematics and physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) in 2022, and is currently pursuing Master degree. He joined the Institute for Information Transmission Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IITP RAS) in 2020. His research interests include MIMO, RIS, Channel Estimation, mmWave Communication and prototyping of wireless devices.
The seminar is free and open. To join the seminar, please fill in the form. To get more information about the seminar, please visit this page.
