Title: Machine Learning and Optimization Methods for Maximizing Throughput of Wireless MIMO Systems

Speaker: Evgeny Bobrov, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Huawei Russian Research Institute

Abstract: The report will present new mathematical methods for optimizing the quality of signal reception in the wireless communication system of 5G generation, ensuring its optimal bandwidth and maximum signal quality. Theorems and methods, simplifying the initial statement of the problem of multibeam signal propagation, and allowing to write computationally simpler and more effective optimization functions, namely, the weighted least squares function, will be considered. Both analytical methods for constructing the signal beamforming matrix and iterative quasi-Newtonian procedures will be discussed. A new machine-learning based communication channel adaptation method that is able to predict the optimal signal modulation and coding scheme in a non-stationary environment based on signal-to-noise ratio estimation will also be discussed.

Bio: Evgeny Bobrov is a graduate student of the 4th year of the CMC Faculty of Moscow State University. Research interests: machine learning, optimization and modern problems of radio communication.
